Services: development
Asterisk is a platform, not a product. With dialplan, AGI, AMI and ARI it will do whatever your process needs, and we write the code that makes it: integrations, call flows and complete applications, on a switch you own.
; Route a caller to their own account manager [from-trunk-crm] exten => _X.,1,NoOp(Inbound from ${CALLERID(num)}) same => n,AGI(crmlookup.php,${CALLERID(num)}) same => n,GotoIf($["${ACCMGR}" != ""]?owner) same => n,Goto(ext-queues,500,1) same => n(owner),Dial(PJSIP/${ACCMGR},20) same => n,Goto(ext-queues,500,1)
The interfaces
Each suits a different job, and most real applications use more than one.
The switch's own language, deciding what happens to every call. Hand written where FreePBX's modules stop, and kept readable for whoever comes next.
A script called from the dialplan mid-call: look up a caller, check a PIN, fetch an account balance, set variables, and hand the call back.
The management interface: a stream of events and a set of actions, for screen pops, click to dial, wallboards and call logging.
REST and WebSocket control of channels and bridges, for applications that take over the call entirely, such as a dialler or a conversational IVR.
What we have built
A webhook on answer brings the customer's record up before they have said a word, and outcomes, notes and callbacks are written straight back. Salesforce, SuiteCRM, Zoho, HubSpot, Dynamics, AgileCRM, VTiger, or anything that takes a webhook.
Callers identified by number or PIN and moved up the queue by your rules. When the queue is full, callers leave a transcribed message or book a callback the system dials automatically.
Each voicemail transcribed, then summarised into an email that reads as if a colleague took the message, with urgency, whether a callback is needed and the caller's CRM details.
Recordings turned into text attributed to each speaker, searchable from inside FreePBX with fuzzy matching, the recording one click away and every access logged.
The caller says what they need, regional accents and trade terms included, and local language models route the call. Nothing leaves your platform, and it scales from dozens to thousands of calls at once.
Someone returning a missed campaign call hears who called them and chooses a priority callback or removal, which updates the do-not-call lists automatically.
Templates, directories, feature keys and firmware pushed to Yealink, Grandstream and Fanvil estates, with button layouts kept the same on every desk.
Block the last caller to your extension in two clicks from the browser. Numbers reported by several users join a shared blacklist. Free for GENVoice customers.
Highlight a number on any web page, right-click, and your desk phone dials it. Click to dial from CRM records too, with the call logged back.
Foundations
Asterisk has a comprehensive API; FreePBX much less so. Our own FreePBX framework manages extensions, queues, ring groups, trunks and the blacklist, and with our scripts for provisioning, contact sync, caller ID lookups and AGI it is the base of everything on this page. Number validation, SMS, speech to text and text to speech come from our Arkane API.
The largest application we have built on it is our predictive dialler. Code examples from our repository are on GENWiki, free to use.
Tell us what your callers and staff find frustrating, and we will tell you what we would build.
